Rally
by Hershey
Gone — Hershey discontinued Rally in January 1979, and it has resurfaced only twice on the record: retro four-packs at Chocolate World around 2008 and a brief Walgreens run in 2013. Collectors date the national rollout to 1970, the company's archive the bar itself to 1967.
Hershey wrapped caramel and peanuts in milk chocolate and sold it to anyone who could not hold out until dinner. Rally lasted barely a dozen years in the rack, and what survives is wrappers, a couple of commercials and an inflatable store display.
🧾 One more thingCollector lore says the bar was named for the Wally Byam Airstream rally that filled Hershey with trailers in the summer of 1970. The company's own archive dates Rally to October 1967, which makes the story impossible, and its entry for that rally never mentions a candy bar.
