AISLE 4 Β· CANDY & GUM
Reese's Whipps
by Reese's
Gone, though the end year is the shakiest on this page: every source giving 2010 traces back to one cluster of food-content sites plus a nostalgia account, and Hershey has never said anything publicly. The introduction date is solid and the disappearance itself is not in dispute β only when exactly it happened.
Reese's answer to the 3 Musketeers: whipped peanut butter nougat under milk chocolate, sold on the promise of 40% less fat than the leading chocolate candy. It was light, it was airy, and it lasted about three years.
π§Ύ One more thingHershey's own community archives date the introduction precisely β October 1, 2007 β which puts it at the very tail end of the low-fat chocolate era, launching into a diet-candy market that had already been shrinking for years. The petition asking for its return has been open ever since and has never cracked a thousand signatures.
