Yumbo

by Burger King
1968 – 1974 RARE REVIVALS

The Yumbo left Burger King's menu in 1974 and has only resurfaced for brief limited runs since, most visibly a nationwide comeback in December 2014. It is not a standing menu item today.

Hot ham and cheese on a toasted bun, from the years when Burger King wasn't yet certain its future was entirely beef. It vanished in 1974 and spent four decades as the kind of memory people weren't sure they'd made up.

🧾 One more thingBurger King brought it back in December 2014 — forty years later, advertised with bell-bottoms and lava lamps — then quietly let it go again. The revival came on a hoagie bun with lettuce and mayo, which purists argued was a completely different sandwich wearing a beloved name.
