2008 – 2013 RARE REVIVALS

Limited — the Volcano Taco has no permanent home on the menu, but Taco Bell keeps reviving it for short promotional runs, most recently in early 2026. Any sighting should be treated as temporary.

A taco in a bright red shell loaded with beef, nacho cheese and a sauce Taco Bell was willing to call Lava — the centerpiece of an entire spicy sub-menu. It ran five years before the volcano went dormant.

🧾 One more thingWhen the Volcano Menu was cut in 2013, fans petitioned to bring it back and won a partial victory: the Lava Sauce alone returned in 2015. The taco itself has since been resurrected twice as a rewards-app exclusive — once in 2023 and again in early 2026 — each time for a few weeks before disappearing again.
