Tangy Taffy
by Wonka
A rebrand, not a death: around the turn of the millennium Nestlé folded Tangy Taffy into Laffy Taffy, whose 'Stretchy & Tangy' flat bars are its direct descendants — sold to this day. The name, though, is gone.
Flat fruit taffy bars with a sour bite, born in 1970 with Archie Comics characters moonlighting as flavor mascots. It never exactly died — it just woke up one day wearing a Laffy Taffy wrapper.
🧾 One more thingIts tang was recycled corporate chemistry: maker Sunmark borrowed the flavor profiles straight from its own Pixy Stix line. Fans still swear the tang never survived the switch to Laffy Taffy.
