Road Kill Gummi Candy

by Trolli
2004 – 2005 GONE FOREVER

Gone, but never banned: no regulator touched it, whatever the banned-candy listicles say — Kraft quit the product on its own, under protest pressure, in 2005. Trolli is alive and selling sour crawlers, with Ferrara holding the US rights; only this line ended.

The New Jersey SPCA had never complained to a company about a product before it met the gummi snakes and chickens with tire treads pressed across them. Two days after Kraft pulled the web ad, the candy went too.

🧾 One more thingThe withdrawal came with no recall: production was to stop as soon as possible and whatever was already bagged would sell through, so flattened squirrels kept riding checkout belts in stores that still had them.
