Reggie! Bar

1978 – 1981 IT CAME BACK

Reggie! Bar was discontinued in 1981 — but it’s back on shelves today.

A disc of caramel and roasted peanuts under milk chocolate, created in 1978 after Reggie Jackson boasted that if he ever played in New York, they’d name a candy bar after him. The Yankees signed him, the bar arrived — and then a corporate merger shuttered its only factory, killing it off by 1981.

🧾 One more thingAt the Yankees’ 1978 home opener, fans got free Reggie! Bars — and when Jackson homered in his first at-bat, thousands of them hurled the orange-wrapped discs onto the field mid-game. After a 40-year absence, Jackson himself helped bring the bar back in 2023.
