Pepsi Edge

by Pepsi
2004 – 2005 GONE FOREVER

Gone — discontinued at the end of 2005 after roughly a year on shelves, the same fate that met Coca-Cola C2 across the aisle. PepsiCo has never revived the name.

Half the sugar, half the calories and all of the confusion: Pepsi's first mid-calorie cola, sweetened with a blend of corn syrup and Splenda, arrived in 2004 to fight Coca-Cola C2 for a market that turned out not to exist. Both sides lost.

🧾 One more thingPepsiCo announced Edge in March 2004 and, on May 17, 2005, announced it was dropping it by year's end; a company spokesman explained that drinkers who wanted fewer calories simply wanted zero. Pepsi tried the same idea again as Pepsi Next in 2012, and that eventually met the same end.
