Pepsi A.M.
by PepsiCo
Gone — production ended in October 1990, roughly a year after the test launch. It never reached a national rollout, and Pepsi has never brought it back.
A cola built for breakfast: 25% more caffeine than regular Pepsi and a straight-faced pitch that Americans should reach for a can instead of the coffee pot. It got about a year on test-market shelves before the country returned its verdict.
🧾 One more thingIt never went national — PepsiCo tried it in Cedar Falls and Waterloo, Iowa, and Fort Wayne, Indiana, and there was a Diet Pepsi A.M. dying quietly alongside it. The Associated Press ran the obituary on October 16, 1990 under the headline ‘They're Not Waking Up to Pepsi AM.’
