Minute Maid Frozen Concentrate

by Minute Maid
1946 – 2026 GONE FOREVER

Gone — Coca-Cola said in early 2026 that it was leaving the frozen can category, and all five varieties were off the line by April. Minute Maid juice is still sold in cartons, and other brands still make frozen concentrate; the format outlived the one that started it.

Three cans of water, a stiff frozen plug and a lot of stirring: that was the ritual behind a can that lasted eighty years. In 2026 the freezer case stopped keeping a space for it.

🧾 One more thingIt only existed because the Army changed its mind. A Boston lab had won a wartime contract for powdered orange juice, using vacuum evaporation it had developed to dry penicillin and blood plasma, and when the order was cancelled the stranded Florida plant pivoted to a consumer freezer product.
