Gone from US menus since 2020, with no national return planned. Not to be confused with McSalad Shakers, the shake-the-cup experiment that died in 2003 — these were the later Premium Salads, and they are just as gone.
For thirty-three years you could order a salad under the golden arches, a menu line that began in 1987 and grew into the Premium Salad range. The 2020 pandemic menu cull took it off the board, and nobody sent a rescue party.
🧾 One more thingMcDonald's has since offered them back and been turned down twice over. In 2022 franchisees were given the option of putting salads on their own menus and most declined; at a 2024 industry forum, US president Joe Erlinger said the chain would gladly relaunch salads if that were what customers wanted from McDonald's, and that experience says it isn't.
