Libbyland Adventure Dinners
by Libby's
Yes — Libbyland Adventure Dinners was discontinued in 1976 after 5 years on shelves, and it has not come back.
The first TV dinner built for children: five themed 'adventures' — Pirate Picnic, Safari Supper, Sea Diver's Dinner and friends — each packing two entrees, activity-covered boxes that folded into placemat playsets, and trays with characters stamped into the foil. Kids adored them for exactly five years before Libby's pulled the plug in 1976.
🧾 One more thingEvery box came with 'Milk Magic,' a powder that turned plain milk chocolatey, on the theory that no child should endure an unthemed beverage. Libbyland beat Kid Cuisine to the kids' frozen-dinner concept by nearly two decades — and no one has shipped a fold-out diorama dinner box since.
