1987 – 2020 GONE FOREVER

Gone — Nestlé retired the line in 2020 and never replaced it; regular Hot Pockets carry on without their diet sibling. Some write-ups date the shutdown to 2022, but the brand's own January 2020 statement is the earliest confirmation on record.

Hot Pockets with the guilt engineered out — a lower-fat, lower-calorie sleeve of dough that let you microwave lunch at your desk and file it under wellness. It ran 33 years on the proposition that molten cheese could be a diet food.

🧾 One more thingThere was no press release and no farewell flavor. In January 2020 the official Hot Pockets account answered a curious customer on Twitter with one flat line — the Lean Pockets, it said, had been retired — and that reply remains the clearest death notice the brand ever issued.
