Gone. In March 2023 Krispy Kreme said it would exit its underperforming shelf-stable snack business and stop production at the Concord plant in May. Only the packaged snack line died; fresh Krispy Kreme doughnuts are still sold in its shops and grocery-store cases.

Shelf-stable, bite-size Krispy Kremes in sleeves of glazed, chocolate and apple cinnamon, launched at Walmart in 2020 to put the doughnut in every snack aisle. They reached more than 15,000 stores and were still losing money two years in.
