Gone. Ice Cream Cones spent roughly a single year on shelves in the mid-’80s — General Mills’ own history archive dates the launch to 1986, most other accounts to 1987 — and apart from a one-off 2003 centennial run it has never returned.
Three-dimensional sugar-cone pieces and little vanilla or chocolate-chip scoop balls, hawked by a ginger-haired cartoon peddler named Ice Cream Jones who pedaled a freezer bike around the neighborhood. It was dessert for breakfast, stated without apology, and parents talked General Mills out of it inside a year.
🧾 One more thingIt came back exactly once — in 2003, for the ice cream cone’s hundredth birthday, with water-park games and Nestlé coupons on the box. Fans noticed immediately that the cones had been flattened into triangles instead of the original 3-D ones.
