Ghostbusters Cereal

by Ralston
1985 – 1991 RARE REVIVALS

Limited — Ralston's original died with the license in 1991. General Mills put a Ghostbusters cereal back on shelves in April 2021 to promote Ghostbusters: Afterlife, but it was a limited run and a different product: red corn puffs with Mini-Puft marshmallows, not the fruit pieces you remember.

Fruit-flavored pieces stamped with the no-ghost logo, swimming in a bowl of ghost marshmallows — Ralston's licensing machine running at full tilt. It lasted six years and three renamings as the franchise it was bolted to kept changing shape.

🧾 One more thingIt was essentially one cereal wearing four different boxes: Ghostbusters, then The Real Ghostbusters, then a Ghostbusters II box, and finally Slimer! And The Real Ghostbusters, each swapped in as the cartoon and the sequels came and went. Slimer eventually earned a marshmallow of his own.
