2002 – 2005 GONE FOREVER

Gone — Cadbury Schweppes said in July 2005 that dnL would not come back for 2006, handing its shelf space to 7 Up Plus, which did not last either. Some sources date the end to 2006, when the last of it cleared out; no revival has ever been attempted.

Somebody turned the 7 Up logo upside down and got a brand name out of it, then filled the bottle with something 7 Up was not: bright green, caffeinated and aimed directly at Mountain Dew. It reached most of the country in late 2002 and was finished before its third birthday.

🧾 One more thingDr Pepper/Seven Up sent out a vehicle called the Flip It and hired acrobats to sell the upside-down idea to teenagers. The verdict from the division's own chief, Gil Cassagne, was that the launch "didn't really align with what the consumer expected 7UP to be."
