Chantico
by Starbucks
Gone — you cannot order one, and the name has carried no live Starbucks trademark since 2009. Retrospectives that date the end to 2005 run a month early; it was still on sale that December.
It came one way only: six ounces, no substitutions, in the chain built entirely on substitutions. Starbucks called it a drinkable dessert, rolled it out across the US and Canada in a single day, and scrapped it a year later.
🧾 One more thingThe problem was never that people disliked it. A Starbucks spokesman told the AP it was "something that customers did like" — what they wanted was a version they could tinker with, in a chain where tinkering is the entire point.
