Angus Third Pounder

by McDonald's
2009 – 2013 GONE FOREVER

Gone. AP reported in May 2013 that McDonald's was dropping it over rising beef costs and soft sales, alongside Chicken Selects. Its 2015 replacement, the Sirloin Third Pound, is gone too. McDonald's Australia kept an Angus range for years longer.

McDonald's attempt at a steakhouse burger: a third of a pound of Angus beef for about four dollars. It lasted four years at a counter where the Dollar Menu sat right beside it.

🧾 One more thingIt was the chain's first new burger since the Big N' Tasty, after roughly two years of testing in California, New York and Ohio. When it was cut, Carl's Jr. and Hardee's openly courted the burger's "angry, frustrated and confused" fans.
