Yes — Super Size was discontinued in 2004 after 17 years on shelves, and it has not come back.
The 42-ounce drink and the fry carton that needed two hands, launched in the summer of 1987 as a one-time promotion and kept because America answered yes. For seventeen years, ‘would you like to Super Size that?’ was the closest thing fast food ever had to a catchphrase.
🧾 One more thingMcDonald’s announced the phase-out in March 2004, six weeks after Super Size Me premiered, and insisted the film had nothing to do with it — a spokesman said the driving force was menu simplification, adding that not very many Super Size fries were sold anyway. It was gone from all 13,000-plus US restaurants by the end of that year.
